The group which was initiated by nine-year-old Zoe Willcock, gathered 120 GBP.

Zoe said: “I was washing my mum’s car and I just thought why don’t we do it for charity, so we started going up and down the street to see if anyone wanted their car washed.

The group consists of Zoe, her brother Matthew, five, and friends Eliza Mockett, six, Rene Mockett, 12, Alex Foreman, nine, and Martha Foreman, six, went to their street with their gear; soap, bucket and sponges.

Zoe added: “We weren’t doing anything anyway and I thought it would be good to give the money to people in Pakistan because it will help them.

“They have their food dropped out of airplanes and its hard for some people to catch, so this will help them to get some good food and shelter.”

Zoe’s proud dad Steve, 39, a strategic land director, said: “I just think it’s absolutely fabulous. It was the last week of their summer holidays and it was just an idea my daughter Zoe had.

“It was just a great idea, right at the end of their holiday, and it gave them all something to do for a good cause. It was brilliant.”

Zoe’s father, Steve, will now drop of the cash generated by those generous and enthusiastic youngsters at a collection point to help victims of the disaster.
