Just a few weeks ago Toyota took the wraps off the highly anticipated replacement for the worlds best selling Hybrid and stunned the world with the Prius’s new completely revamped aggressive design language but revealed very little details and specifications on the new model though thankfully due to images that have emerged online about the 2016 Toyota Prius’s user manual we now have some more insight on the car.

Under the hood the Prius will come equipped with a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE Atkinson cycle engine paired to an electric motor. Although power figures have not been revealed on the new powerplant, it states that the Prius can achieve up to 40 km/l, however this time around Toyota will also offer the Prius in four wheel drive in the top of the range models which will drop the km/l value to 35km/l. The 2016 Prius is designed around what the company calls ICONIC Human-tech, which adds flowing curves with aggressive angular lines, resulting in “ground-breaking advances” and “aerodynamic innovations” for cutting through the air more efficiently all of which helps the Prius be so economical. The new Prius will also be 6cm longer, 1.5cm wider and 2cm lower than the outgoing model all of which combines to as Toyota claims a car that handles better with much less body roll.

Inside the cabin of the 2016 Toyota Prius, you get the same familiar 3 spoke multi-function steering wheel along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system in the center. The instrument cluster is now fully digital being displayed on a 4.2 inch TFT screen which can display almost any information that the driver so chooses. The new Prius also offers Toyota’s Safety Sense P package, which includes features like Pre-collision System with pedestrian detection function, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Radar Cruise Control.
