Guys, I need a suggestion regarding the brake system of Mutt.
Currently my restoration phase is in progress and while opening the brakes system, it was found that previously Mutt had only 3 brake connections working and one rear connection was disconnected as there was no pipe connected in it. Also the other rear tyre brake pipe is also in bad condition,
So i have tried to find those 2 brake pipes in some what better condition (with accurate lenghts) but still no success yet. Also i cannot use desi pipes as the size of cylinder choori is small then normal pipe choori available in the market.
Now this is forcing me to opt for any of below condition.
Buy the old small pieces of the brake pipes, weld them together to the required length and then use these old pipes.
Risk here is that i need to make sure that each and every weld is in perfect condition and there is not even a minor marking between the joints. In case there is some leaking the brake will not work and will become useless.
Also repairing these pipes will be a risk too.
Other option is convert all the 4 brakes to disc brakes system with new fuel pipes and everything required, by this the maintenance of brake will be easy and also long lasting in my opinion.
Question here is if i go for disc brakes, what alterations are required to be done here to make it fully operatable.
Also converting to disc brakes will be worth it considering the speed on which it cruise which is obviously not very high? Also how much is the difference between disc and old drum system?
