i have seen couple of them here in islamabad. Few are with private owner whereas about 4 are with embassy. i was about to buy one last month but couldnt strike a proper deal with the owner. I test drove one and it was marvelous. powerful, silent and very responsive engine. They are all GDI's so CNG is a bit problem. otherwise they give u 13 km/litre.
one 1999 was sold for 09.50 last year and this other guy had a 98 in grey color. he was asking 1150 which i managed to pull down to 10.25. i think it shud nt be priced more then 950.
there are no body parts available here and u have to get them from dubai. engine running parts are the same as lancer.
I also saw a couple of iO's here in karachi during last week, they were 2002 models.
seemed marvelous in looks.
Rumors are the duties are going to drop down in coming government budget (june 2009) plus the permission for 7 year old vehicles will be allowed to be imported,
Prices will surely drop down by then.
Right now, a 2002 mini pajero costs more then 500,000/- here in karachi. it used to be 4+
I am sure the iO will be available within 6 to 8 K after june.

Pajero io available "on showroon" for 945,000 ....... That certainly means it worths no more than 8 to 8.5 K
Bro taxes and duties never come down in Pak. they will remain the same or might go up as i have heard. anyway if you come across an unregistered do let me know on 0300 8529852. i am searching for one.
pajero io r kool .. but body parts is a very big question ... i have seen hardly 10 jeep yet since last 3 yrs .. and never seen any half cut at shershah or parts in plaza n other places yet .. buying it would be a risky stuff as far as i think ....
Do You Know The Meaning Of Speed Lanes ???
True,
And so is the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) in this Pajero io particularly and generally in Galant is a risk itself. Major failure so far as i have heard.
Lets see if import policy is modified to allow vehicles up to 5 year, we might be able to see some rides 2004 onwards.
@desert, I think i might have one for you, i saw an un-registered io 2 weeks before, i'll check if it is still available,
thanx KarachiDrift. will wait for info.
Finally i bought an IO 98. it is one amazing machine. Running parts are available but body parts is a problem. Dubai though is full of them. i have taken my chance now so lets see how it goes by.

@ Cotec/Aamir.....Takreeb-e-ronamai kafi logon ke rehti haithen is my turn
IO stands for "Me" in italian and this is what it is called. in some countries they call it Pinin.
@ Raohamid......thnaks bro, yes it has 4H 4HLc and 4Llc. center diff lockwithin city if you drive sanely it gives around 12/litre and on long its 15/litre. As per reviews and claims by mitsubishi if you keep the pedal to 60km/hr it will give 19/litre however that is not applicable to desertdevil LOL.
