    @ Mitsu Man,

The transplant went very well. Far better than the diesel and suits the second generation (my all time favorite pajero) perfectly.

Thanks to the internet, I downloaded its complete repair manual.

And thanks to you as well for the diagrams that I never received !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saaduk! Khabardaar, it has won more Dakar rallies than I have ever performed Dakaars. (burps) Mitsu was supposed to say this, I am standing in for him.

On a serious note, I am getting the feeling that Toyota is going all American with ridiculously huge engines now. What happened to the days where you could get in a puny little 2LT powered 3 door and perform any obstacle possible? The power was always in the diff, this is perhaps what I miss most with the new LCs. I respect Nissan for keeping their roots, the powertrain is still the best part about a Patrol. With the LC, the best part about it is that you can make illicit babies in the third row easily now.

    Rao,

They need to keep the power to weight ratio balanced. The 90's LCs equiped with 2LTs were light because they had no safety features etc so the power was enough.

If you want something for pure offroading, They are still making 70 series for you. 3 door or 5 door which ever suits you. I drove the new 70 series in UAE with 1GR and it was awesome.
