Dear hsumbal1
When I was in search of my first SUV i.e. 60 series andfirst Diesel powered vehicle about one and half year ago. My first preferencewas 3B reasons being 3431 cc, 4 cyl, parts availability, long lasting repute, fuel economy the only downside was its noise being 4 cyl engine.
After searching a number of vehicles and travelling todifferent cities finally I got what I wanted to have, that was an 1989 modelHJ60 in private use since manufacturing not an auctioned vehicle. No tamperingwhatsoever but the only problem was that it was having a 2H engine, 3980 cc, 6cylinder it was frightening me day and night about its fuel consumption etc.
I searched alot on ih8mud.com and came to know that it hasgot same fuel consuption like 3B despite the fact that it is 6 cyl and have 549cc more.
Later on i got the figures confirmed from the 60 seriesbrochures as well.
Finally I got my hands over it about six months back andalhamdolilah I am happy with its fuel consumption, quiteness, power etc.
I am getting 7.5-8km/l in city anyday and 10km/l onmotorways and highways at a speed of 100km/h.
Although the engine has clocked256000 miles(its a UK model) without overhauling even. It has a five speedoriginal gearbox H55F.
So what I am trying to say is that 2H is a good optionbetween 1HZ and a 3B in terms fuel economy, power, quiteness etc.
engine capacity power torque
<o:p></o:p>
3B 3431cc 90 hp (67 kW) @3500rpm 160 ft?lbf (217N?m) @ 2000 rpm
2H 3980cc 105 hp (77 kW) at 3,500 rpm 177 lb?ft (240 N?m) @ 2,000 rpm
1HZ 4164cc 129 hp (96 kW) @3800 rpm 210 lbft (285Nm) @ 2200 rpm
This is according to my 2 cents knowledge.
Don?t know about 2H engine price.
