NN Trip report:
Wow, it was one great adventure day out!
Took NPP swimming is deeper part of Harro river, one heart wrenching moment when we got bogged down, and the ramp at far end was at an angle and rather soft so cross axle digging ensued! Somehow npp didn't shut down there and with a bit of struggle, it came out by itself in reverse, well Sam and his friend were standing on rear bumper and jumping up n down for traction. At the time we already had 3 inch of standing water inside in the foot well, don't know where that came in from!
A bit later the engine started spluttering and misfiring and than shut down, and than wouldn't start n cranking was laboured and made strange noises, and than a spark from battery terminal and than smoke. Lots of water on top of battery and air filter cover, opened up the cover and plenty water inside and filter was all dripping water! Reminded me a bit of Rohtas Rally. Somehow the silicon seals around intake pipe from snorkle had breached and it sucked in plenty water!
After some tense moments of cleaning up/ drying and thoughts of being towed back all the way back to isloo, worked out there was lots of water ingress in fuses next to battery and also the battery terminal needed re-tighting. Imtiaz kindly went to nearby petrol station to get high pressure air blown to air filter to help dryout. Eventually TB45S came back to life but with intermittently rough idle and losing power once or twice, but seems overall the engine survived!
Although we managed back without help, it still needs a visit to the doctor! Oh and the front mudflap part ripping and front under bumper plastic shield ripping off when we were visiously spinning wheels stuck in river were just minor incidents
Apart from NPP, Nadeem Bhai's Jero's ATF cooler rubber pipe decided to split up and leak all the oil out when we were attempting this climb, the one you see in which one front tyre high in air, and we lost all drive!. Had to be towed partly by NPP and than the pipe was changed and ATF poured in and it was all good!
Yasir did try to throw his Suzuki sideways from the mountain, but luckily was stopped in time!
The river side lunch arranged by Imtiaz and the sweet by BilalZ were yummy! Afterwards many had proper dip in the river and later actually dozed on the river bank in the beautiful afternoon sun while the Jero repair was taking place.
Many thnx to all who came for their wonderful company and absolutely great fun. The deserters I will deal with later!
