Thanks for the pictures Arif, but i have to see how you've mounted it to the body.
Sam, Not quite good, recently i hit a collapsable barrier while exiting the cantt area, i stopped the MP officer came up, and told me and the guy with me to pick it up and put it back, fair enough was my mistake, that bloody tire & carrier is a nuisancespanCalibri","sans-serif";" , anyways he took us to his desk next to the MP post, he's like where did you get this jeep, blah blah, and so on...so i answered, after that he's like " why is it in jauji color?".....bloody hell what more do you want me to do..paint hearts on it.... well i replied that we are planning to change it, and he says that there is a 15 day notice and all that blabber, then the a Infantry Sergeant comes up and says "Hum se leh kar humain dekha tay ho" that pissed me off way over, but i was in no position to get into trouble with the army that moment, so i kept quiet, then the Mp officer is like, we will write you a ticket, and for the mistake you made, you have to get punishment for it, luckily the guy with me was an Army retired Sergeant, he had a little talk with both of them and all of a sudden they are like puppies. Anyways we closed the moment, and got into the jeep, all of a sudden a Kernel stops on the opposite side, and asks the MP officer "why is this jeep in military attire", avoiding another situation, i sped off. Bloody hell, why is the Army so jealous of us civi's running these jeeps? i don't know...whats the matter i mean, we saved these jeeps, and represent them as retired Pak Army, and the Army itself wants us to turn them into a POS. Most of the soldiers who've driven this jeep have come upto me and admire the fact the its a fantastic vehicle. is it really the law or is it just plain jealousy? i really don't know. I mean i'm not going to invade india or kashmir just by having it painted green...

There is a difference in the M825 and M151A2 which is not just the seats, but the entire rear it self,
An M151A2 has a tire carrier on the right side of the back, the gerry can holdings on the left side of the back and has no slots for the M40 RR Mount, the fenders are open and it has a bench seat at the back, While an M825 has, the tire carrier next to the passenger side, the gerry can stand back of left front fender, has slots for the M40 RR Mount, has fender fmounted foldable seats, has rails on the back floor to hold 6 rounds of 105mm ammunition for the RR, has a small foldablemetal flap about 3 inches high and has locking pin slot to the back of it, but it has no tailgate. Mechanically the M825 has additional springs in the main coil springs to support the load of the heavy M40 RR, be sure to remove them, and the change the shocks with a lighter load capacity, or you will be at high risk of rolling over the vehicle, because the back of the vehicle will be almost 4-6 inches higher than the front, and would bounce more than the front.

i have seen there M151A2 with side single benches and recoilelless rifle stand, this means either Army has altered those that way or A2 has this capabilty. though i know that require double shocks as mentioned by sherwan, but those machines were with single rear shock each side.
If you see the pictures i have uploaded you will observe that it had side single benches as well and were removed. |

No Amin, M151A2s comes as a forward control jeep as well as a gun/missile carrier. The gun/missile carrier is the M825 variant.
The holes maybe there on the FC jeep but they are stock, as the wireless set can be installed there. The ones with fender seats also have two handles on each side for the occupant to hold on to.

Sam
I have few reasons to close the back. 1) I have to put in front forward two seater bench in the tub, so i need to close it from the back. 2) i like the gerry and spare wheel mounted on the back.. so m closing it and will mount another can and another spare wheel. yes it does open, door opener is right behind the driver side from inside. work is in progress in this picture,, not completed. And yes... m installing roll / hood bars as well... will share pics....
