Default Pajero or Prado--which one is better(Experts Plzz)

For a change my fellow pakwheelers... lets get out of corolla civic wars and put our views to finalise which of these (Prado or Pajero) is the best!!! As nowadays many are opting 4x4 SUVs ....

Why from 1986-1992 Pajero was the hot favorite and now the Prado... I guess both are arch rivals if given chance to
tested against each other... which one do you pick???
keep all the factors in view -- the off roading capabilities... economy... luxury and accessories... price and maintainence and all round performance..

Here are some videos to make a view of both...

My father had one in 1988-90 Pajero station wagon ...and he still adores it....

@waleed_khushi... I agree ... the new Pajero is very reasonable in price and offers more I guess then Prado... though I own a 04 Prado TZ V6... in dubai I had test driven the new 3.8V6 Pajero, the 3.5 V6 Honda Pilot and the 4.0V6 Prado... need reviews and views so as to counter Prado mania these Days...

^^Not sure about all the stuff you have asked for, however, I was in the market for a Prado a couple of months back, but now a Pajero is all I am looking for. Without being too technical, I find the Pajero more comfortable, I think the new one looks great, and I feel you get more bells and whistles for much less with the Pajero.

Having said that, the mid 90s Prados all come with solid live axles, and the Pajeros have had Independent Front Suspensions (IFS) for ever now. That translates to Pajeros being more comfortable on road, and the Prado's having the edge off the road. There have been lots of debates on solid axles vs IFS, the major difference being that wheel travel is often limited to 8 inches with IFS, whereas, solid live axles allow up to 12 inches easily. But depends on the kind of offroading you do, eg. in a rally, wheel travel doesn't matter as much as when you are climbing rocky terrain.

I also want to add that having driven both the new 3,2 TDi D-ID Pajeros and the new Prado 1KD D4Ds, the Pajero engine is outstanding, its that good.

no comparison btw pajero n prado... pajero is far far better than prado... my father owned 91 pajero earlier it was awsome however i have driven 2006 pajero n prado aswell. Pajero i mean is something else!! we cant compare it with prado ... prado is like a city crusier kinda thing in front pajero there categories arent same however..

prado has her own pride while pajero has his own dignity

As far as my experience with diesel engines goes, Toyota engines have been sturdier and more dependable than Mitsubishi's.
