Desert Challenge Route:

Thar Desert Challenge will consist of two stages with qualifying round for the drivers on Saturday Nov 7

th

2009 prior to the Race Day, which will determine the starting sequence of the Rally drivers on the race day regardless of their Stock registration.

The start/finish point of the Desert Challenge will be the same. Total length of the route comprising of two stages will be approximate 200 k.m. in total.

There will be several Passage Control Checkpoints along the Route. All of these checkpoints will be clearly marked on the route and the exact number and location will be disclosed at the Drivers’ Meeting prior to the start of the race.

The registered Service Vehicles, if any, can also follow the Desert Challenge Route.

However, the service vehicles will be allowed onto the Rally Route only after all competing vehicles have started on the section.

Thanks Rao, I need all the prayers, so don’t stop till its over.

Rally is my introduction to the world of 4x4s; of course it’s my first love. ORAD or 4x4 Engaged? type of adventure is good, but for me rally is the pinnacle. Hopefully I will get the chance to get old and probably the priorities will change with time, but at the moment, rally rocks.

Yaar we will be having my Defender as our service vehicle, my driver and Janj's mechanic will ride it and in case we break down, will provide service or rescue.

Yeah rally season is on, after Mithi there is going to be the Jhal Magsi Rally, to be arranged around the 20th of Dec and than there will be the Cholistan Rally in the last of Feb or early March. In between, 4x4 Engaged will arrange a Mud Rally and probably IJC is also planning to have an event. Going to be a few busy months ahead.

Info you need, the rally is in & off Mithi.
You can use your toyota to get to Mithi, mode of stay is a Rally village but I guess one needs to register to be able to stay there. Food is available at cost.
Its from the 6th-8th Nov.

When are you coming to Karachi, or are you meeting your driver half way ?

If in Karachi, are you guys using KHI-HYD-MITHI route ?, I'll might be in Khadan on 7th & if so, plan to come down to Mithi on race day (8th) for viewing only. I'll be on the KHI-Thatta-Badin-Khadan route, so shall come in via Diplo route.
Let me know if you are going to ve in town.
