Default Unimog punga project
I have recently bought unimog 421, Long wheel base, 2.4L deisel, model 1984, an army auctioned vehicle. Restoration of this rig is already on and Inshaallah it will be on road with all its capabilities by the end of December. My Mog was in farely good condition in all aspects but still you know its auctioned vehicle so have to go through the massive operation. I will look forward to valuable suggestion from all IJC members pertaining to egine overhaul, suspension system (shocks), electric work, paint job etc. thx

well truely a punga

one issue that u might face is parts availability... try to find workshop manual for this machine.. as local mechanics might lack the true knowledge of this machine.

parts should be available with someone.. there are ppl who supply parts to army.. army still has some of these.

Any idea of any engine/transmission modification possibility?? just like we do in jeeps

We ( IJC ) witnessed the performance of Unimog in our friendly offroading competition on 5 th Oct 2008 & it impressed everyone.

Best of luck with your project. I have my reservations that it could be restored fully. Anyhow I can help you a lot like provide you copies of workshop manuals, parts catalogue, etc only at your expanse of photocopying it. Plus get you through with people who know INs and Out of its repair. But the real job would be yours. Contact me when you need me. My no is 0333-5109707

I find no other header for this project but punga project. parts are available. Rizwan bhai (cotec) help me out in finalizing and also arranged workshop manual for me. thx Rizwan bhai.
Engine is in good condition to be overhauled, therefore i am keeping the same engine. and still no plane to take PUNGA with transmission.

thank you brother, i will contact you soon. photocopying expense has already been done not by me but Rizwan bhai (cotec). need suggestions on replacement of shock absorber.
