Hi guys ..
Was out shopping today at COSMO, Jinnah Park. Begum was inside and I was sitting the kids in the car. AC was on and I was just driving around in the compound to keep the cabin chilled.
Then, all of a sudden, a strange slight noise started coming from the engine and when I revved up, it would increase. I checked it up and found that it was the AC (sound vanished with AC turned off)
The car was feeling a bit more heavy on the accelerator but cooling was perfect.
So, took it to Toyota GT.
Diagnosis:
Complete AC system fouled up. Carbon in cooling lines.
Remedy:
Change everything. Estimate, 60-70k (plus the cardiologist's fee ... :s)
Then I took the car to a local Ustaad (ex Toyota AC technician) ..
Diagnosis:
There can't be carbon in the cooling lines coz if there's even a tiny bit, the AC will not work due to some blocked nozzle or sumfin.
There's a little noise coming from the compressor which is the same as the one that comes in Vitz
Remedy:
Enjoy the ride for now. Meanwhile, look for a Kabuli compressor and swap as these compressors can't be repaired. Rest is all fine.
So, really confused ... Help required from my fellow pakwheelers ..
