I got a 2010 GLi a couple of months back with 36000 KM on the ODO and haven't driven it much or gotten it serviced since the seller told me he had gotten it serviced recently and I don't have to get it done before 40000 KM. But a few issues have popped up and I'm thinking to get a service soon enough now.
For example, recently I noticed a lot of water under the front passenger side foot rest, at first I was under the impression that 1.5 Litre water bottle had leaked into the floor. You can read about that in this thread:
https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/body-work-interior-paint-glass-appearance/214539-car-floor-soaked-water-wont-evaporate
Then after not driving the car for a couple of weeks and parking it in the sunlight a couple of times the water had disappeared making me think the sunlight did the trick.
But that's not the case, the water returned after I drove the car on AC a few times this week, the foot rest was completely soaked in water again, which led me to believe that something wrong with the AC drain piper or some other AC related issue.
I went to a car AC place and with just a quick inspection under the passenger seat carpet the guy said it seems like the AC coil could be jammed/stuck and we will have to take it out, clean it and install it back.
The guy said he will charge 1500Rs for this, so I want to ask if any of you has faced such an issue and if the mechanics diagnosis is correct? To me it seems maybe the drain pipe is blocked or twisted or leaking into the carpet and the mechanic is just trying to charge me for little or no work at all, you know how these guys are
Secondly, I've noticed that the AC performance has reduced a bit especially when it's left on for a few hours, is that due to the increase in temperature nowadays or could that issue be related to the water leakage issue?
Thanks in advance!
P.S
I think this issue was there before the seller sold me the car, which he should have told me don't you think?
