Abandoned Air strips Karachi

I found that there are atleast two abandoned air bases in karachi.

1. Chota malir air field near University road
2. Paf Base malir

Can a normal citizen like me get access to any of the abandoned bases in karachi?

I remember an old, old thread on PW where someone discussed these fields and some members actually went there for drag races etc. There were maps etc as well, you should try searching the forums.

Both places mentioned are the same - and no longer accessible by the public.

there is another abandoned strip about 475 meters length for smaller aircrafts size of 737s. 7km away from Angara goth Gadap CAA beacon is located on it and the area is also prohibited since after repairs in April 2004. over the google earth try locate it approx 2 ~ 3 km north west of water park & private zoo T-junction

if you look carefully both are different places with different land marks beside them. One is at super link road behind fauji grave yard while the 2nd one is inside malir cant behind faziza intermediate college.

if its no longer allowed for the public then why bother for its location, we cant go to test the top speed of our ride

These type of bases are usually constructed by air force / army for use in emergency needs, especially during war etc. These remain no go area for general public.

I remeber my old days when i used to go evry evening on Chota malir airstrip with frnds on cycles as my home was near to it.... Believe me at that time it was Abandoned n there were wolf's n dog's n many othr wild animals..v have seen many dark tyres sign on the airstrip n vry Weird things!!But when my parents come's to knw about it.. They told my (MAMOO) who was Colonel n st0pped me for goin there cuz it was on the back of Graveyard n some other reason..!! After a week or 5 days a gate was build there..... So v wont be able to go there any...
