[QUOTE=mianmars;4855784]Hello everyone!
A brief intro first;
I am a filmmaker from Peshawar and love to shoot our beautiful Pakistan's landscapes and our culture from time to time. Last summers i came here posting questions about our trip to Kashmir for a music video shoot and got some good tips for planning it all out. You can watch that video here https://vimeo.com/channels/mashproductions
This year or to be more exact in first 2 weeks of August we are planning out trip to Khunjerab pass for the main purpose of making a stunning 'North-Pakistan' video. First i thought of going through Chitral - Gilgit - Khunjerab but then i assumed that would take too much time and we only have 15 days in our hand which wouldn't be sufficient, please correct if i am wrong.
So following are few of my questions.
- Are 15 days enough for Peshawar - Khunjerab & back? Including visits to Hunza, Skardu, Deosai etc.
Enough
- Which locations do you think we must visit on our way.
- What transport vehicle to hire for the trip? Last time we took a Mercedes Panther to Kashmir.
- Can anyone make a rough plan as to define the stops for each day?
Peshawar to Khunjrab-
Day-1, Peshawar to Naran-8 hours, Day-2, Naran to Chillas 5 hrs, Chillas to Hunza-5 hrs, Day-3 Crossing Attabad Lake-1 hr, Gulmit to Sost-2 hrs, Sost to Khunjrab-1.5 hrs. You can stay at Sost if want to check Valleys around Sost or on return from Khunjrab. But remember one thing, there is no place to stay or shop from Sost to Khunjrab except 4 to 5 checkposts.
Road to Khunjrab is absolutely stunning and smooth, with ample landscapes on the way and on the top.
On return journey you can reach Hunza to Astore in around 5 hours, for next day takeoff for Desoai and Skardu on jeeps, which is 8 to 10 hours journey.
- Which hotels do you recommend at each location & their estimate charges?
There are plenty of hotels everywhere but in Passu only good one is Hotel Sarai Silk Route, +92-5813-50003. Similarly in Astore, Kamran Hotel can work, if could not reach/booked PTDC Rama, but its only for survival kind of thing.
FYI: We are gonna be a crew of around 7 people. Would be taking random stops to take shots hence more time spent then normal from traveling to each location.
Thank you!
