Car manufacturers given 10 days to reduce prices

MIAN MANZOOR WATTOO GIVES 10 DAYS TO CAR MANUFACTURERS AND CAR VENDORS TO REDUCE CAR PRICES Islamabad November 04, 2009 Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo Federal Minister for Industries & Production held a meeting with Car Manufacturers and Car Vendors today in the committee room of the ministry. The Minister expressed his severe concerns over increase in the prices of the cars, black marketing and unavailability of cars in the country. Mian Manzoor Wattoo gave 10 days time to Car Manufacturers and Car Vendors to reduce the prices of the cars, make availability of the cars in the open market immediately, stop summarily own/black marketing on cars and ensure manufacturing of spare parts of the vehicles according to the time frame settled with the government. The Federal Minister categorically stated that the country’s elected government and my ministry would leave no stone unturned in the growth of country’s auto industry and keep running its wheel. He said that we respect the industrialists of the country and protect their interests as well. I extremely feel that the public is furious over the behaviour of the auto industry of the country therefore, the auto industry must set right their matters to address the problems of the public within the given time, he added.

what i think they will do is that they will reduce price by Rs. 1 like govt did when supream court ordered reduction

well the price increases is due to the inflated dollar and depreciated Rupee so if they cut prices it can mean that they cut quality

Govt talked to the auto manufacturers to revise the rate of bribe they are giving to the government at this moment.

Next news item will be: Auto manufacturers increase prices due to higher input (bribe/bhatta/jagga tax) costs.

Beginning of the new crises like Sugar/Atta, Petrol, Gas etc.etc.

Nothing will happen to protect the consumers,as we have seen Supreme Court could not do anything in Sugar/Atta crises.
