Default CNG Association warns of strike

ISLAMABAD: The Central Chairman of All Pakistan CNG Association Ghayas Abdullah Wednesday warned that all the 3000 CNG stations across the country will be shut down if the CNG stations were ordered to be closed two days a week.

Talking exclusively to Geo News here, he said only 25 mmf gas would be saved by closing the CNG stations for two days a week while 2.5 million vehicles and 20 million people will be affected with this decision.

The best way to deal with these inconsiderate people is to cancel their licenses

Although that was not a bad decision, infact was in well being of everyone. But CNG station owners are now like a lion who have had the taste of blood. All i can say, let another frog jump into the dirty pond. Why should they left behind in doing strikes as everybody n every sector is doing this these days.....

BUT this decision should have been welcomed. JUST ME

PS. Unexpectedly for a couple of weeks, CNG guys are reducing their rates in competition. Although there were few stations in peripheries of peshawar who were selling at low rates but in main university road (central peshawar), they usually did not use to offer any discount and the rate was governmental i.e. 49.99..... But now 98% of them are selling at 37.99, few for 36.99 and a single one as low as 34.99. Its good if u save 15 Rs. per Kg.

selfish comments.

here in pindi hiace petrol engines are sold in black, 3 to 4 times of original price cause they all converted to cng.
all cabs, suzuki's,rickshaws running are on gas. these poor people do a day to day living. and poor and middle class travel in them.

i am sure we "privilidged" people can run 2 days on petrol somehow? what about "aam shehri" ?

CNG stations take a small chunk of share of the gas.

government is screwing comman man and the best part is, these people will again vote for them

i will again blame the government

y r there 5 cng station in a bunch everywhere? they should have given out liscences with sense. (scattered locations)

now they owners who invested in "crores" expect returns nae ?

anyways cng stations are consuming a small proportion of cng.

Well its no mystery that the energy sector is the biggest screw up in Pakistan and the government is completely at fault but still if there is a call for some reform these unions pressure the government to withdraw, same was the case when the prices were lowered... All these unions care about is their own profit (yes they have invested a lot of money but there is this thing called integrity)

Actually i sort of agree with @hash bhai's comments, the selfish part.

There's no shortage, atleast not of gas. Infact there is no electricity shortage as well. These are self created. Pakistan has recently found a larger reserve of gas than sui (don't remember about the location). It's our own production, so there's no question about shortage...... Y in this govt, there is shortage of everything? People with brain can easily think of the reasons.

But according to the current situation, where there is shortage (self created), such measure is somewhat balanced. 6 days for taxi wagon walas daily wage people, rest 2 days for the benefit of home consumers where again daily wage workers are there. And these 2 days will be enough for home user to take advantage of that till the next 6 days

Finding reserves and tapping into them is another thing, the self made shortage might exist neither can i verify it nor can i deny it. But i'm more against the CNG unions opposing everything they've been told LOL
