    read this thread this is very informative and i hope your question will be answered.

    This is understood that you cant drive at 50 KMPH on highways, but ur bike will give you better average on higway even if you drive it at 70 - 75 KMPH. Reason is that you drive consistently at a speed on highways, it means less usuage of breaks and less shifting of gears. thats what saves the fuel.

    By the way what average you are getting from your 125 in city.

    cant say anything what it does within city, coz my cousin owns a 125 1992 model and it used to give approx 55 KMPL on highways and 45-47 within city. but milage of your bike mostly depends on your driving habit.

    Again read that article mentioned in my last post

    city speed=40-45km

    highway=65-70km

    calculations based upon a petrol mileage test we were doing on some bikes

    really impressed by @pearlrose's reply.
    From my side,make a habit of changing gears & applying brakes as less as you can,use more engine braking,it will result in an economic ride.
    thanx

    Recomended economy speed for CG 125 by Atlas Honda is 45~55 KMPH in top gear below & above this speed efeciency curve starts decreasing gardually. As per my own experince CG driven in that speed can gives 55+ KMPH in city.

    BTW as Adil & other members said the throttle hand & braking habit can change the fuel average dramticaly

    well, i havn't tried the 45 kmph speed limit, caz normally on my way to uni, i often go flying at around 65-80 kmph, but still my bike gives me around 41 km/litre.

    ^For that speed I think the ideal average should be above 45km/liter. The best average can be obtained at 40km/h since thats the lowest ideal speed for the 4th gear on a 125.
