Apologise for the delayed reply. First off, in this post I'll just try to deliberate on waxes.
So heres the deal. First off to be absolutely straight forward, no wax in our country will last more than 2-3 weeks maximum "effectively" (depending upon a number of factors) no matter how expensive they are, no matter what the label claims or how much we swear upon them. After that those 2-3 weeks, the "main purpose" for which you had put the wax on, that is, "protection" diminishes pretty quickly. And mind you these 2-3 weeks? A lot will depend upon how the surface of the car was prepped in the first place. In other words, its like applying after shave balm in late afternoon to an oily skin without washing the face to remove oily residues first. The wax may exceed the effective duration of 2-3 weeks in case you are living in northern areas with a nice weather and minimum dust, but thats about it.
Having said that, lets fast forward to the point of selection of a suitable wax. There are basically two types of waxes under hundreds of brand names, trademarks, series, labels etc. (1) Natural Carnauba Wax and (2) Synthetic Wax. There are numerous factors that add to make a wax whether Carnauba or Synthetic more expensive (Research and Development, method of application, ease of application, ease of removal, amount required for effectiveness, bonding/ compatibility with other products, capable of being applied on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight, residue, longevity etc to name a few). Its not just about the brand name and marketing, supply and demand etc.
But at this point you should just just know that Carnauba will bring more warmth, make colours pop and shine when applied correctly but it will not outlast Synthetic Wax. On the other hand, synthetic wax will bring to the table, more longevity/ endurance due to nano polymers and chemical engineering involved. Sure, both can get close to each other but as of now, there is no work around. Usually, when you get into the passion of detailing or even casual maintenance, experimentation with different products (waxes) down the road will tell you what really works and for how long. Remember, different chemicals react differently on same cars, almost same paint conditions etc.
Have Realistic Approach and Expectations: Finally, my recommendations would be (1) Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax (2) Collinite 476S. There are tons of waxes out there and people will recommend in a wide variety but PKDM Honda City in Alabaster Silver = Above two (basing upon experience). I could recommend more expensive and premium waxes but I feel there is no point in that. Between Rs 2500/- to Rs 3000/- should be your target aimed at. Save the rest and buy important things like grit guard, MF towels, Mitts and Stuff.
