I m totally a newbie, don't know anything about amps, subs, speakers etc. I read some reviews and recommendations about 'Entertainment on wheels' Johar Town on PW and from members. Last month, i was passing by and out of no where stopped there and ask for a suggestion for audio upgrade. As it was a unplanned visit, so i didn't get a chance to read some basics about audio system.I was limited on budget, and not willing to change preinstalled Eclipse LCD Head unit and Stock door speakers .They suggested my to add Audio Bank 2 ch amp and Pioneer Champion Series 10" sub . After the installation, i was not very much impressed, the bass was great but the vocal was not good at all. So, i decided to change the stock front door speakers and chose DLS Coaxial 6.5" (Components where out my range). The change was remarkable after the replacement, and i was very much satisfied with the results. The sound quality was very very clear and amusing from DLS, and bass from this little champ sub was outclass. They suggested me to play these DLS speakers for 20hrs on Head Unit and after that they will connect the speakers to the amp.
I did a road trip to Naran during Eid holidays and really enjoyed the new upgrades in audio setup during the whole trip. The DLS and Pioneer Amp were a great deal in my budget, don't know about amp. Every friend and cousin asked about the speakers and really liked the sound (although no one knows about DLS). i usually listen Unplugged and Live versions, and really enjoyed the clear vocal that comes from DLS.
After a road trip and almost 20 days later, the 20 hrs playing time were completed and now DLS were somehow loud and not that good as they where in start. I visited 'Entertainment on wheel' again to connect DLS on amp. The technician told me that my amp is 2ch and we can't connect speakers to current amp, you need to change the amp to 4ch or there is a option to bridge them with sub, but the sound level will suffer. Again, i was not interested to invest more, so i opted for bridging option. After the conversion, the sound level was really dropped, and i was not impressed at all with the outcome. So, I chose the cheapest available DELLSON 4ch amp.
After the installation of new 4ch amp, decent bass were added in DLS and the doors were thrilling as well, but overall the experience was not good. The same unplugged songs were now a headache, the quality was not at all the same as it was during the road trip. This was due to creepy DELLSON amp, good for loud listeners, not for quality lovers. Without wasting any further time i again knocked at 'Entertainment on wheels' to solve this, the technician spent 1 hour with me and tried to satisfied me with different amp settings, but all in-vain and finally concluded to go with some mid-range branded amp or back to your Audio Bank amp. Finally, after some technical discussion with owner i decided to change my stock eclipse LCD with Pioneer 2650ui head-unit, which is 50WX4 and will support the DLS very well and connect the sub with 2 ch Audio Bank amp. Now, DLS speakers are connected with head-unit and are again in banging mode while Pioneer sub is working great with amp.Currently, I m satisfied with the sound, but don't know for how long this satisfaction will last :-$
Few words about 'Entertainment on wheels' : I love them !!! Not only do they have the friendliest employees, but they also have the fastest service. All the top notch genuine and branded products under one hood. The owner (Mr Rasheed) will NOT let you buy something that doesn't make sense for your car, even if it will means he loses out on money. He will give you the perfect equipment according to your taste and requirement. For example if you have your heart set on some expensive set of subs or amp that will not work well with your HeadUnit, he won't sell it to you he will instead show you why it won't work and will help you find the best fit. I visited them many times in a last couple of days, checked different speakers & amps, every time i walked in they treated me like my first visit.
Guys, your reviews are welcome on the selection of installed products, and recommendations for future upgrades.
