Before I start the discussion, I tried searching and saw multiple post/threads with either DIY or small discussions on the subject but never a full on discussion for its correct use, reviews (yes there are ALOT for dynamat, NVX and Stinger etc but not for the other products like MLV products), prices and installation.
So here goes.
While I have been into a being an audio enthusiast (cant really justify the work audiophile I think) at home and in the car, my research I think was always short on these products. The only thing that I knew about was dynamat till maybe a few years back. I have read increasingly on MLV, CCF, OCF and ofcourse on vibration dampeners like CLD tiles etc.
I will add the purpose of each (from various sources and my own experience) but I want to get the opinion of the audiophiles around. I have seen a lot of butyl and asphalt based products being used but very rarely have seen any complete sound deadening projects (most are vibration dampening, I am assuming because of subwoofers etc.). The option seem very attractive to me because of the lighter material cars we get investing an additional 10-20k(for the enthusiast) seems reasonable if it can make the car relatively quiet and towards a more luxurious feel (I agree it wont become an S-class but maybe come close to a C, maybe).
Does anybody know the options around for CCF/OCF and MLV in Pakistan along with their reviews. What have people used and whats been the experience? has anybody properly measured decibel changes at different speeds etc. ?
This will be very helpful for me for a few projects that I will be attempting in the near future.
Hope this can generate some meaningful discussion.
Thanks for the interest and help!
