AOA,
I have a charade 86 model with original engine and CNG. The problem started before Eid when i started my car and took it out, the engine stalled, then it would not start on CNG. I switched it to petrol, it got started but again with heavy missing. I was able to get it back to my Garage. I tried to find out the fault myself and thought its the faulty point which i replaced with an after market one. Car started but again there was minor missing. I took it to a nearby mechanic and after he touched the missing grew more instead of decreasing. Anyhow he changed what they call Hadi, the thing attached to the bottle along side the distributor and also cleaned the point which had carbon on it even though it was new. That day the car drove fine. T
The next morning again when i started my car, the engine was missing, i again took it to the same mechanic, after inspection he said that the point i had bought is at fault and so he changed it with a point that he had. The car got smooth again. I drove it around 20 kms and it was fine. The next day again the same fault but as it was one day before Eid, mechanic was gone, i could not get it checked but since i knew what he was doing, i decided to do it for myself, took out the point, got it cleaned with sand paper and put back, the missing was gone.
Now what i dont understand is why is the point getting carbon deposited on it and what could be the possible fault? The current as said by the mechanic is fine, plugs are new, point was also new, what else could be the matter? I dont want to waist money by going to mechanics and using their tukas as was the case previously.
