Yes these were achieved on long routes. I'd say yes i definitely get better mileage figures in local driving as well whenever i keep my throttle foot light, just dont cross 2500 rpms n ur good to go but those figures will definitely be much much less than these long route figures. Normally i dont get anything more than 16.5 to 17 km/l in the city with the AC on, that is also when im really really light on the throttle.
I would say the tecniques can be applied to some extent in city driving but beyond that would be a hazard for ownself and other traffic too but at the same time taking ur example, lets say ur driving in khi at a place wher u get to have a free long cruise without having to face a lotta traffic, im not very current on the road structure in khi but roads like when u go from gulbai to boat basin or when u take that left turn after gulbai for hoxbay etc, its routes like these where u CAN save fuel. But definitely not in places n traffic like saddar or light house etc.

Thanx for ur 2 bits sir. I on the other hand have only tested few cars n cant boast a vast knowledge of rpm figures, however i can definitely claim that honda city is definitely the most fuel economical car ive ever driven. Ur figures on the reborn prove that those people who say it CANT give more than 12km/l are using bad driving techniques, bad in the sense that they use more fuel, its not just being slow that saves fuel, thers lots of other factors too. cheers!
