@OP: 1st Gear 3.2K RPM till 20KPH only :-! Something is not right. Go through some regular and obvious maintenance such as filters/engine oil. Change your petrol pump too. If the situation improves; well and good, otherwise get a diagnostic check.
I am with you when you said you feel different after driving your X-trail. You get hard wired for a car and when you go to another car with less performance you expect the same response from the engine and other stuff. Happens to me too. On Mondays when I am usually back in Islamabad driving my Swift after Cuore sessions in Lahore on the weekend, the first time I brake it is like screeeeeeeeeeech and I am like whoops! forgot that the Swift has better braking, better be light on the brake pedal :P. Happens every Monday
Disclaimer: (Drive responsibly people!) Just saw an accident in I/10 today involving a Bolan. The driver died probably (unconfirmed and hoping not), judging by the big pool of blood on the road.
I do grandma style driving everyday because well too much traffic everywhere and no open roads but if I have a clear stretch (long road; no intersections, no pedestrian crossing), it is pedal to the metal. The normal slow driving style I feel is a bit taxing on the person driving. It makes you lazy. Driving fast probably increases your reaction times; that is just my opinion. It doesn't hurt to push it once in a while but do it on open roads.
