Hi Guys
My apologies in advance if this has been discussed earlier, but i could not seem to find an answer on PW forums.
Recently bought a Honda City Aspire 1.5L MT, took it to Islamabad from Lahore via Motorway and then all the way back, and I could not help but notice that the car revs too high at normal highway speeds. in my experience with City 1.3L manual, the car stays comfortably below 4000rpm (around 3.5-3.6 mark) at 120kmph, but my car is constantly at 4000rpm throughout at 120kmph whereas I believe due to better Power/Weight ratio the engine should not need to work as hard as a 1.3L vehicle. Due to the same reason, the car is making a lot of engine noise. Is this a cause of concern? mileage as per the ECU as well as manual calculation in-city and on motorway comes around 12km/l
Attaching a picture showing 4000rpm at 120kmph 5th gear.
Anyone else has experienced something similar? or is this going to get better after sometime and/or an oil change?
also, despite getting the vehicle alignment and balancing done after a tyre change, I felt that on highway at 120-130kmph the car experienced weird instability like experiencing crosswinds/sideways wind drag/slip. I looked at the trees and they were completely static so most probably not crosswinds. Should I get the alignment checked again? it did not happen throughout the 360 odd KMs on the motorway but happened pretty frequently and randomly.
