Hey guys - Mashallah got my new
City i-vtec (MT)
few days back - n i think its pretty damn good! - was hearing a few, maybe quite a lot, 'cons' than 'pros' about this car - was always recommended towards XLI - but i wanted city - though drove both before final decision, and we clearly had a winner -
have a few observations that i'd like to share:
Pros:
looks awesome (i named it 'optimus prime' as in transformers :D), drive is clearly clearly quality + performance oriented - started a love affair with the black interior - mind boggling acceleration on a 1.3 engine (gives me hope :D) and sounds roaring as well - spacious enough - comfy - the instrument panel and steering are coooool - really quiet cockpit specially when idle and zero vibration of engine in idle - Air con is goood plus powerful throw of fans - (dont make fun of me on this one but its true that..) it smells like a normal new car as compared to xli/gli which has the smell of decomposing rats kept in nail polish in plastic drums
Cons:
fuel avg is not so good yet, but have heard it get's on its toes in a few K's (just 280km driven in a week) - suspension slightly hard, with minor road noise travel in the cockpit (maybe due to the stock tyres) - crap tyres - one of my least favourite 'golf ball gear lever' - the door speakers are just not up to par - the alpine mp3 head unit again not upto par - removable antenna - dash material quality is unsatisfactory, but will do - rear wind screen has not such a nice view of outside from the inside, which gives difficulty in reverse, but its not that bad either - engine has a rough behaviour after 3 to 3.5 rpm, feels quiet and smooth below that, maybe this makes it exciting and tempting - toolkit is seriously crap quality - carpet is thin and has a slight cheap feel to it - installing CNG voids the warranty??? well... not confirmed but have heard from you guys.. please add to it..
unexploited known goodies:
- G-con technology, I need time to figure out what is this, though on paper, i've read it all, which says geforce control, but dont get the point of it being there, else it would've been easy to understand if it were a nissan skyline r35 :). The only thing I noticed is it absorbs sideways geforces in corners or swift manouvers. I need a little help here guys..
- ABS EBD brake assist: got all the goodies to stop, but havent tested em brakes hard enuf.
Missing Stuff:
Fog light spaces in front bumper, rear stop lamp, boot lamp, muffler/exhaust stainless steel tip, back door speakers (grills are there), remote controller for the alpine mp3, alloy rims (well negotiable) - all in comparison to price, not any xli gli city civic thing..
But all in all Drive is a pleasure, dont wanna get out, no sign of strain except for reverse head turn viewing - and aaahh the AC is great - loving it - therefore lets one forget the 'cons' and the missing stuff, and lets you relax and do the job of driving.
will add to it when i discover more about it, meanwhile check the pics out guys!
