I have had CNG fitted cars since CNG was introduced in Pakistan (except for a vitz in between) ... i don't see any issues .... with a running of about 500-1000 a month it saves about 4-5 rs a km ... doing the maths i save rs 2500 to 5000 a month and in year about the price of a kit or roughly rs 50-60k
now after one year cng kit covers its price (not to mention it has a resale price as well)
so far my car (lancer 1.6 2007) with 100k mileage is perfect just got it diagnostic checked from mitsubishi motors yesterday
So what have i lost
-- standing in lines ... NO i get cng filled on mondays or tuesday never been in a line (i don't count one or two cars ahead as a line) or from a odd cng station
-- my cars engine ... I have enough knowledge to know how an engine works and what are effects of cng on its life ... in my fair idea if i keep it maintained nothing will happen till engine covers 250k-kms and by then it would have saved some 1mn Rs worth of fuel (may be less but just a calc) ... so even it will cover my cars price what to talk of a stupid engine which i can get kabli for 50k in prestine condition any time
so i think the person who put cng in new civic is highly wise and has a foresight instead of those who just follow a slogan never knowing why
Just my 2 cent opinion
