    Angry Low millage Civic Vti

Assalamoalikum People, hope you'll all be in fine health

My civic Vti 04 is giving me less then 100 km on a full cylinder[55], before it was doing around 110 not more then that, today it went for 75km with ac on local . Please tell me which cng tuning center should i visit(isb/rwp) to get the cng tuned up for a better performance. I have heard people saying that their civic was doing 150/160 local? :O.

Secondly the rpm acts weird at times, it hangs on 2000rpm while braking, with ac rpm drops a great deal, i have cleaned the throttle body had it tuned up by enercon a few times but still no effect.

    Thanks!

    Get the standard stuff done.

    Kit serviced
    Air filter cleaned
    Plugs cleaned

Most of the times the stuff that generally effects economy is the culprit.

The RPM trouble may be solved after a service of the kit as well. Not too sure!

One time issue can be just a bad CNG pump however!

Just had it few weeks back, new air filter installed, kit serviced plugs cleaned. And the cng pump i prefer are in the main areas of isb so bad cng pump is not the issue here.

it should be doing 110km at least..unless you drive with a very heavy foot. Since you've already done the tuning and cleaned the throttle body, are you sure there's no leakage?
Realistically, there's no way you can prove that I'm not BATMAN.

    check for valve leakage
people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

get emulator and advancer checked along with its wiring.

    b.t.w 120-130 is a more realistic target.

    Checked, no valve leakage.

@hash, I know 120-130 is more realistic, but seriously i have talked to a few people and they all said that their civic was doing 150-160 :|. I guess they had tightly closed their cng valves :| for more mileage and no speed.

    @jaggi, stock size.

Well i recently tuned my cng again, car with light acceleration is doing around 120km on full cylinder. People who claims to go beyond that average please speak up :|

My VTi does around 130-140 in city with AC and with a really good acceleration but it really depends a lot upon one's driving style. I try to change gears around 2500 rpm and occasionally at 3000 too.
You can get your tappets adjusted and then your CNG setting done. You can try to adjust the mixer and the CNG injecter yourself while running the car from one point to another. This will give you better understanding of the issue too.
If you come to Lahore, I can advise you a person but in Islamabad I don't know where to go
@Bango, mate you never got back. Looks like you got it all sorted after meeting me

This average is at Lahore so at Islamabad, it really should be around 130-150. AC switched on in a car with this capacity doesn't bother the engine much unless you get stuck into a traffic jam or wait for someone in your car while having the AC switched on.

@Ak Raj. If your civic is doing 100 to 110 in city, then its perfectly alright and its been tuned by your CNG mechanic for performance and not for economy. You can get it tuned for more mileage but why you want to ruin your engine by closing down its throat?
As far as hanging of RPM is concerned at 2000, I was having same problem in my civic last year. Honda guys first serviced the throttle body but of no use. So they scanned and serviced the IAC valve. My car remained fit for one almost one year but now sometimes it happens again. Try to get your IAC valve serviced. Also check your car for air intake. coz sometime throttle body is not tightened properly and it starts sucking air from its seal, which causes RPM to act abnormally. Try these and do let me know as well that your problem is resolved or not.

Also tell me that this rpm drop problem occurs when you come from long journeys or does this happen always?

And I also think that the enercon people have advanced the timing of your car more than needed.
