Default CAR STARTs ON SECOND TRY

    hey guys.

im facing a lil problem, whenever i start my car it always starts on second try this only happens when i turnoff my car in CNG and when the car is cold.

it cold starts perfectly in petrol, i mean if i turnoff my car in petrol it starts perfectly fine in petrol.

what do u think the problem could be?

    Hi Salamn

Which Car it is ? What is the normal mileage on your car in the city?

I had the same problem on my Cultus 2004, it was giving me low mileage in city while excellent mileage on highway. And statring was exactly as you stated. Instant start on petrol while 2-3 tries on CNG.

Actually the ignition timing was too advanced. After adjusting ignition timing, the starting problem solved and also town running mileage improved much.

    @ Salman

Adjusting ignition timing on Carbureature cars is very simple, you just need to loose and rotate the distributor but since Altis is EFI and probabily with a Timing Advance Processor installed, so I really can't comment on it.

You should consult the shop where got installed your CNG kit or try to locate ENERCON workshop in your area. They tune up your car by examining the the CO emission from exhaust, thus optimizing the engine performance.

BTW: In my life, I haven't seen a mechanic with a Timing Gun to check ignition timing, even those who install the Timing Advance Processors in EFI cars. (bad ignition timing can ruin your engine's performance)

Another cause for starting on 2nd or 3rd crank is out of range adjustment of CNG. If you are getting good mileage, may be your CNG setting has been at low end. In this case, pick becomes poor, however.

    Default CNG in EFI Vehicle

As far as i know that all EFI vehicles are supposed to start at gasoline and then shifted to CNG and it is done automatically by the CNG kit processer.I have owned vitz for a year and it always starts on gasoline and just after starting it shifts to CNG automatically. So you should consult your CNG installer.
