Default Mehran CNG Vs imported 650CC Car consumption

    Hi all,

I hope this is the correct section i have chosen for my post. I am buying a new Mahran (lease) and intend to convert it to CNG for saving money. Now there are many imported cars (Japanese) of 650CC or 700CC cars in lahore. They are mostly automatic and their price(used car) is almost the same as Mehran. Their fuel consumption i have been told is exceptional as good as 25Km per liter. One example is Nissan Otti.

My office distance from home is 16km one way. Keeping in view the CNG price raise and 3 day non-availability, people are asking me not to buy Mehran and go for the above mentioned Japanese used refurbished cars. My preference is a car which do not take me to workshop for at least next few years. But only thing i am worried about is resale factor.

    What do you suggest?

    Regards,
    Muhammad Khabbab

    Dont u love ur family??
Do u prefer to drive a dalda tin of 1980s??
Mehran is a old model of 1980s which is still manufactured in our country.
It has no safety n even dont have standard features..
Go for a JDM car, u wont reget buying them..

Don't you think, buying a used car is a risk. I am not a car expert, what if there is some serious problem in car which i discover after buying, that will be a big loss for me. Which car do you advise has less risk as far as repair is concerned?

Look at the comment..do you prefer to drive dalda tin-- come on grow up and post some useful things. You can add something useful instead of saying dalda tin this and that. You're living down in Pakistan where everything sucks big time because of corruption. If you want to blame ,blame everything over here. But don't start this BS in every thread.Try to keep some threads clean.

    Default Suggession

Assalam o Alaikum Mr Khabbab !
Well! I suggest u to go for imported car, for that there are many options to be chosen such as nissan otti, suzuki alto, suzuki Kei, Dihatsu Mira etc.... It is correct that these cars have very suitable mileage. But one thing you would suffer the price range in our local market... U can make a suitable difference in price if u directly Import the car, it would certainly enable u to have economical and reliable deal in any case... For further details I can help u in your way, you can contact me on my cell phone: i-e 0332-4066990

    like i suggest everyone
brand new mehran is the best car for beginners , specially those who dont know much about cars. a new car should not take u to workshops for 3 years atleast.
    cheap parts/maintenance/low running cost

660cc cars consumption and parts are very controversial for now
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

go for Mitsubishi EK or Nissan Otti. If you dont drive fast like 110 plus and dont make highway journeys then you ll never regret buying any of these. for consumption 18 km / ltr should be the expectation for manual transmission, if you dont live in the congested areas of LHR. this figure can go as far as 25 km / ltr. but for the auto tranny cars the firgures are somwhat less. parts are arriving as more and more vehicles are getting on the road.

Thank you. And i have been suggested NOT to convert Mehran to CNG instead keep running it on Petrol because after converting it to CNG, the Petrol consumption will also affect. Does mehran consume 15 Km / Litre the new car? I will not be running into congested areas.

do a proper installation of cng in any of the 660 cc cars and you ll get an unbelievably cheap running car. theres no controversiality in 660 cars: they are best suited for speed around 70 kmph and for not more than three persons.

a mehran tuned on CNG gives as low as 8-9 km per litre on petrol.
on the other hand EFI cng kits if installed properly do not effect the consumption of cars in any way. but proper installation costs upto rs. 15k more than the jugari installation.

getting 15km/ltr in lhr is to good to be true.maybe if u drive in no traffic zone with very few signals and keep the engine rev's at minimum
on the other hand cars like mehran and cuores on cng are the cheapest thing to run on cng

again i am not sure how much u can afford per month on fuel and if u have another car at home

Seems like u r also an unfortunate owner of mehran.I havnt posted any abusing word. If u r frustated with ur personal lyf, dont express it here. Its a open forum and everyone reads it. I posted the rite thing & any wise man would extract the conclusion of my words. Dont blame that everything here sucks. What sucks is the mentality of our people. No one is forcing u to buy a crap. But v people only think of resale, money is everything for us and our politicians.

Bro buying a used Japnese vehicle is 100 times better than buying a new local crap.. Even the BASE MODEL of japanese cars have more features than our local manfactured top medels.
JDM cars have excellent build quality. Just get the car inspected by a mechanic. no worries

I think you guys probably missed the point i m leasing from bank as mentioned in first post of mine. The JDM cars in the range of Mehran price are older than 4 years so cannot be leased from bank. Those who are after 2007 they are too expensive for me.

Thank you for all your suggestions.
