CNG car doesn't start on petrol

Dear fellow members I need help in this situation. I have a Mehran which I mostly use on CNG. However due to the un predictable situation in our city, I sometimes need to run it on petrol. The problem is it doesn't start right away. I need to turn the key again and again due to which a constraint is developed on the battery. Some people say this problem is because the carburetor becomes dry on CNG and when you have to switch to petrol open the carburetor and put some petrol there and then start it. Is this true? Can this problem be overcome by using a stronger fuel pump or better spark plugs?

if the problem is starting engine on petrol you need to check for fuel pump, remove outter line from pump put it in an empty bottle crank the engine few time & see if fuel pump is squirting petrol in the bottle, if it is then place the line back in its place & adjust the ignition timings for petrol run.

Fuel pump is doing its job. How am I supposed to adjust the ignition timings? :s

Okay. I forgot to mention that I tried to switch to petrol after using it on CNG for like 4 months... I went to a mechanic who did the job for me. I drove it on petrol for 10 days and then drove it on CNG for a week and then it still won't convert at a click of the switch...
