One of my friends got it installed a week after it was delivered from showroom. Initially it was fine but just after 2000 to 3000 KM it started giving problems like low pick up, frequent tunings etc. Than it started giving jerks on low gears along with a terrible stucking sound on red signals. By the time he reached 8000 KM, his car used to slip/miss gears and sometimes wont shift from 4th to 5th gear. The pattern was very unpredictable. By 10,000 Km the car was not permenantly shifting to 5th gear and the intermitant shifiting problem came down from 3rd to 4th gear. Sometimes it shifted to 4th gear fine and sometimes it didnt. The problem started worsening and one day he was not able to shift to 4th gear permanently.
We showed this car to HONDA 3s and they blamed the CNG kit and their reasoning was very logical. The resolution to the problem was to change the transmission belt/chain which costed Rs. 1,20,000 two years back (belt/chain got loosse due to lack of power provided by CNG). I saw the loose chain/belt myself and there was a lot of play in it which was causing it to slip and not shift gears. 20,000 were the labour charges and new CVT oil etc. Total cost around 1,50,000 approx.
We then decided to sell the car which was a wise decision at that time. The person purchasing the car was clearly told of this problem but I guess he was some landlord type of person and didn't really care.
Later on we found out that he got the transmission belt/chain changed from Honda 3s in Rs. 1,65,000. :o
