yaar i also think it is not correct formula
cylinder capacioty in Litres X 0.18=Gas in KGs
    40 X 0.18=7.2KG Gas (at 200Bars)

bcoz what i experience is in max. i could get this

    in 50 kg cylinder=7.8
    in 55 kg cylinder=8.01
    in 60 kg cylinder=8.1
& these readings i got when all cylinder was empty

as i think 50 kg means the weight of cylinder(itself alone) is 50kg, inside that cylinder max. gas which can accomodate is 7.8 kg

Default What 40/50/55 KG Cylinder means (for CNG)

40/50/55 KG Cylinder respectively means volume of water in KG that each specified cylinder can accommodate.

Does anyone know how we can find out the capacity of cylinder by PHYSICALLY checking it ? Does it have any inscription etc ?

Looking forward........... I saw this and liked too much here "Have a run to see the fun" Someone had written this here.

    Hi,
0.18 factor is for ideal case, as we know some oil is already present in cylinder.
that is why KG's will little bit less then formulla of :

KG of gas = Cylinder volume in litres X 0.18
