Default Good Engine Oil?

Aslam-o-Alakium,

I need your suggestion guys! i would like to get engine oil change in my Cultus VXL 2006. Which Engine oil these days is good in market ? Besides should i get CNG taged engine oil, or the normal one, as few suggest me to get normal one because the car engine was made for patrol not CNG? Could you guys please suggest?

One more thing i would like to know; what are the signs one should feel, besides after 5000 KM runing, when the car needs to get oil changed?

Using Shell Helix Plus semi-synthetic (now they are printing synthetic on the Bluish-Grey bottle). It is an awesome oil for my Xli, using it for the past two years. Keeps the engine noiseless, cool and clean and good for 6000+ Kms. No issues when changed at 7K. I think this is the best product Shell is selling. I usually buy it from Metro, almost 300 bucks cheaper than the pumps, and they do not sell fake as they buy direct from Shell. So it is orginal.

Beware of oils like Zic as it has become popular, so there is greater possibility of fakes flooding the market. Always buy from a reputable dealer of direct from the agency.

Sohail
*Mobil1 for high performance* is awesome, it is for extreme weather conditions upto 54`C temperatures & i change it after 10,000km.
As u switch from conventional oil to synthetic oil, first oil change is advised a bit early at 5,000 km.
after tht change it every 10,000km
it costs 3200

Brother, all oils are good if they are avail in market in quality no. 1 (the one which is made by the company) and not the one which is cleaned from detergents and sold on all petrol pumps.
My suggestion is buy oil from METRO store. Their only TOTAL and SHELL are avail. Believe me you will see remarkable difference from the one which you buy from open market like petrol pumps.

dear papu,

Filter house is not a good place to be bcoz its my personal experience that they are more concern with their profit not the quality . secondly if anyone of you guys need a Semi synthetic or Synthetic oil you people can contact me and ill get you latest grade oil on direct company price but its not going to be mobil1 or any other brand . But ill guarantee you its gonna feel much better in drive and protection of the car engine parts and would decrease engine noise. Contact me on gtlube_1@hotmail.com . Contact me if you want quality not just the brand name and if you wanna save money too. But if you have extra money then do let me have it too .

Regards,

Omer

i just wanted to add my 2 pence as:
1) avoid sythetic if ur running is less then 2000/month.
2) Oil must be changed after 6 months whether car not even moved.
so use semi if runnign is ]1000 but <2000/month
else
go for normal and change every 5000 km or 6months which ever comes first.
