    Default Pics: Riverside International Automotive Museum

    Yesterday I visited the Riverside International Auto Museum. The museum houses the largest collection of older Maserati's in the United States. Even the Maserati guy's have come from Italy to see the museum. The car's displayed at the museum were either donated or still owned by various individuals around the country. The car's are also in different stages of restoration. The museum usually takes out the street car's to events like C&C and the race car's to vintage racing events.

    The museum is about 10 mins from the world famous Riverside Raceway. Of course the track doesn't exist anymore, it was destroyed so that there could be a shopping mall and houses built there instead. The last year of racing was 1989. In 1988 the raceway was being used for 361 days for some activity or another! The track hosted a variety of race series, Formula 1, NASCAR, CanAm, and TransAm...just to name a few. Carroll Shelby tested the prototypes of the original Ford GT40 and the Cobra Daytona coupe at Riverside. The Carroll Shelby driving school was also located at the track. The museum director told me that to this day people come from all around the world to Riverside to see the famous track.

    I'm not a Maser fan myself, but the 3500GT is a work of art.

    @kahmed79

    I have a request. Anytime you pass by a Ferrari dealership, possible you can take pics of a 599 GTB HGTE, if you find one ?. The best prancing horse, IMO.

    LOL! It's ok bro. BTW...I did drive the Ford GT today, it was red with white stripes. It's seriously one of the nicest balanced cars i've driven. The power is so linear and I love the fact that you can see the supercharger right behind you. Oh...I also saw the very first Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport in the U.S. The factory guy's were giving test drives to potential customers.

    The 599 HGTE's aren't here yet, the latest prancing horses at the dealer's are the California and the 16M. I'll post pics when I do see the HGTE.

    Since the guys at ford decided not to mingle with the design of the actual GT40; it still doesnt look that bad(1966 in 2009)...But my question is What is it that the GT couldnt bring from the past?!
    Nothing to see here.
