Question Toyota Hybrid Cars in Pakistan?

Recently someone told me that Toyota's Hybrid cars are available in Pakistan for something like 1.8 to 2 million rupees. Is it true? Earlier I had heard that Hybrid cars were something like at least 6 million. I have not seen myself any Hybrid on the road yet but their availability has been mentioned by more than one persons.. Any idea?

in hybrid cars the fuel engine kicks in when you gas the engine for speed. however fuel engine goes silent again once vehicle momentum is stable. fuel economy is considerably efficient while commuting in traffic

hybrid cars are for fuel economy not for 'Drift' or making 'Donuts' but yes when gassed they kick and jump to take the lead...

^ When Petrols reaching 100rs a liter, i give a damn about thrill, to me electric cars seem alot better alternative then a CNGfied car.

I considering a Hybrid Civic for Gli maybe sometime in future. The battries are said to last around 10years.

Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

And what about the difference in the comfort of the two cars? If on a jumpy road, is Civic better or Prius?

Im not sure if they are reliable in long run(longer distances), But for city commuting i guess Hybrids are perfect.

i was thinking to trade in my starlet with prius but just yesterday a cgnchi side (all metal pipe frame with 7 - 8 guys sitting on it) hit the starlet from back at red light and bumper moved 2 inches,,,, 500 rs expense or leave it as a souvenir..

what if i was in prius?

    buy a new tail light,
    fix bumper
    side fender dent paint,,

50,000,, there goes my fuel savings

yeah but isn't that the case with any new car (civic/GLI). Frankly, you could have saved Rs 500 too if you have bought chingchi, why not trade in your starlet with chingchi - 0 cost!!

battery life in Prius & Civic 2nd generation are over 15+ years,

toyota & honda pakistan may have data & scan tools available BUT they may take a while to source parts for the cars at their premium price.

Officially both can not officially decline service such cars but can annoy you for prolonged time for 'availability' of parts.

Parts - agreed; what about general service e.g 10K km service of electric motor as well as batteries, are these desi mechanics capable of providing these services?

Hybrid is maintenance FREE because batteries / charge control units/ drive motors are all sealed and fuel engine maintenance is usual use google to check for prius forums (newzealand & Australia) for further details. Down load Prius maintenance manual for knowledge you will enjoy reading.
