Visually, the Jade RS features a new mesh-type radiator grille with RS emblem, a set of 17-inch alloy wheels and dark chrome for the fog light surround, door handles and tailgate molding. The interior can be ordered in two colors – black and brown, with cloth-leather seats, leather steering wheel and aluminium pedals.
The sporty minivan comes with a new 1.5-liter turbo engine that generates 150 PS (110 kW) and 203 Nm (150 lb-ft) of torque. The Japanese company claims the unit provides “powerful and smooth acceleration by generating torque equivalent to that of a 2.4-liter engine.” The average fuel consumption stands at 5.55 l/100 km (18.0 km/l). The turbo unit is mated to a retuned CVT transmission with 7-speed paddle shifter.
Honda has also retuned the suspension of the Jade that now offers higher rigidity. The Jade RS has been equipped with the Agile Handling Assist (AHA) electronic control system that “utilizes brake vectoring to improve corner traceability and confident handling feel with smaller steering wheel inputs.”
