To those waiting for pics of the 2010 refreshed SX4 sedan, i will post them over the weekend. I've been busy a bit and haven't had time to stray out the office. Maruti-Suzuki is on a roll with the Ritz, selling 7-8thousand pieces of this model on average monthly in the domestic market. Surprise me!.The Nano is now everywhere and Ratan Tata ofcourse knows where his bread is buttered.No surprise!.

Compare the refreshed car with pics of my 2007 SX4 ZXi sedan!.The engine should make the difference and a test drive will reveal all. Till then.

I've been going through the brochure for the new SX4 and i see the same engine specs as before, yet all reviews speak of more punch in the engine. More torque, perhaps?. I'm waiting for the test cars to reach the dealers here before i go on vacation. If i like it, i might trade my old car in. Let's see. Some pics while i was roaming from today.

Nice wheels

Mercedes-Benz(India)'s relentless sales putsch for the C-Class. The 3-series is nipping at the C's heels.

Another German that is giving the Civic a run for it's money.

Something about traffic cops in this part of the world always makes me laugh. Do they know what they're really doing?.

Only one engine option available as of now, which is a pity. It is a punchy engine though and i'm sure the VVT version packs a little more. 1600cc, 106bhp 145NM of torque.

This is a clearer pic of my car(previous version) compared to the refreshed SX4 in the same page. Notice the grill design.

View of street while filling gas at my regular station in Chennai. Checkout the grey SX4 in the right of pic. My fav color after 'copper' was discontinued.

Pondicherry views and wheels

We drove to Pondicherry for lunch today thinking that we would enjoy a little sun and sea breeze at the Promenade. The lunch was all good but we sure didn't bargain for the extreme rain that hit us just after and we were lucky to be able to drive away before the roads got flooded. As always, i was blamed for the rain and as usual while we were strolling around the French Quarter before lunch i was busy clicking away at cars!. NO surprise here. Anyways, before the squall hit and i had to give it up, here's a sample of what kinda wheels you would see on the street in Pondicherry...

@adl01

The A4 is much better looking than the 3-series or the C-class.

@Toofan.....

Sadly, no more pics. Blame the rain.

@Dot3

Skodas look cool especially the Laura sedan. India is Skoda country, despite some issues with service that have been highlighted in a few auto websites of late.

Hanging out at a mall today. I espy a promo event showcasing a DZ'ire with skirting and i almost threw up. Why bother?.

This too shall pass.

UPDATE: 2010 MARUTI-SUZUKI SX4 ZXi AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SEDAN. Price on road, ex-Chennai RS9.17lac

Automatic transmission along with the engine upgrade are the two main enhancements during the midlife of the SX4. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of demo cars to check out the auto tranny.

On the side: An Alto with red lipstick anyone?. Only RS2.97lac.
