Today i have completed first 1000k revs of my new Grande Altis Cvti.
Would like to share a short review of this machine. Before getting the delivery i had read lots of reviews on this forum regarding the pros/cons, so i took the delivery and started off my experience with all things at the back of my mind.
Build Quality:
First thing first, on delivery day at show room, the first thing i inspected was body alignment issues, color and finishing on door panels etc. I felt lucky there did not find any anomaly, overall built quality was good compared to local standards, but when i compare it with my JDM hatchback i feel indus could have done better in terms of finishing.
Driving Experience & Suspension:
Drive is smooth, Pick and acceleration is remarkable, the interior is quite with no unnecessary noise. (i dont know how long it will sustain on our bumpy and rattling road conditions). I felt the suspension is bit stiff, car rear bounces on speed brakers if you dont really slow down. Seats may b good by design (bucket) seats but they dont look really soft as compared to 10 Gen. bucket seats dont seems to have much foam (cushion) in them. I felt my JDM hatch back seats and suspension more soft. But holdon... corolla suspension behaves totally different if its loaded with 3 people at back. The suspension holds the weight pretty well and dont bounces that much. But overall... i did not find the suspension/ seats as comfortable as most of fellows on pakwheels have mentioned. i have already changed the tires to Yokohama Advan DB. But i still feels my JDM hatch back is more comfortable to drive in terms of softness. Dont know may be it will soften with time ? not sure.
Power:
Totally outclass, amazing, found isb/rwp roads short enough to give it a real stretch. With CVT on top the acceleration is worth experiencing.Worth every penny spent on it.
Featuers:
Its worth to have every single additional feature Grande is offering, they feel very handy when you practically use them. optrion meter is treat to watch.. feels really good at night and never get tired of looking at it :). Navigation unit with android is very handy specially for gadgets geeks who likes to fiddle with android capabilities.Headlights are not as bright as i had expected, bulb change is due down the road. Paddle shifers are handy when you need more control on car braking and accelaration. Sunroof... realized its effectiveness only after using it, refreshes the interior air and atmosphere in seconds.
Fuel Consumption:
With careful driving on short trips its giving 12 KM/ L. Seems it will improve on highways.
Overall i am saisfied with this choice and i feel every single reason to be proud and thankful to have it.
Regards,
