Assalam O Alikum,Last Year I got my engine overhauled . I got it checked from mechanics and everyone told me after checking that the one cylinder head is not working. What might be the problem? How come my head needs work so early almost within a year? What can be the problems and how much money would it take to fix the problem?
dry and wet compression testing can isolate the problem of the valves or ringsbut i doubt anyone would be doing that part of testing on a cultus here
Compression Testing equipment is not there with any mechanic. I have no idea how much does that test cost . One person was asking me for Rs1800 for compression test
Rs 1800 for compression test? It's just a compression tester that you need to insert into the plug holes and crank the engine. Meter will show the compression of each cylinder. I don't think this meter would cost you more than 1000 rupees. Buy it and check compression yourself. You will get the idea. These illiterate mechanics are just fooling around with you.
Exactly bro but the problem is from where can i find it!
Tester Itself Cost Hardly 2500-3000rs....!
From spare parts/auto market. Not sure about Karachi but in Lahore, it can be bought from Montgomery road. Last time, electrician used it to check the compression of my car engine and it was the simplest meter he used. Just meter on top and rubber pipe underneath. That won't be expensive. Plus he did not charge me anything for using that compression tester.
go to some other place. Don't tell the problem, just replace the spark plugs. For Cultus Carby NGK BP6ES was the correct plug, it should work for efi model too
the mechanic swap the plugs of other cylinders and he changed the wires also and it didn't work
Are the valves moving in that cylinder? Is the spark plug getting its spark?

how to check that . He just removed plug wires one by one . On two cylinders the car starting shaking and turned off. On the third cylinder nothing happened
Remove valve cover and rotate crank.
this cover will open up the head? we will have to install new gaskit?
the mechanic was saying kay ap ka wall me kaam ha i guess he is refering to valves? he said gari ye jo band kartay hway phak phak kar rahe hai ye bataa rah ha kay wallon ka kaam ha. ap ka ik cylinder ka wall jaam ho gai kharab petrol se? i have no idea . Agar valve ka masla hwa tou bhe head khulayga?
No. Opening head requires going deeper. This is like removing the air filter cover, simple. You can see valves, spring, camshaft. With the head off, you will see the pistons.
Where there is a engine oil cap that cover is the valve cover right. If there is work in valves the head will be opened up for the work right?
Yes and yes
thankyou bro i will get it checked if there is work in valves what would be the estimated expense!
This phuk phuk sound is the clear indication that valves are damaged. They would be redone.
This work has to be done as soon as possible right? this could further damage the head if not got done?
