Well, I believe Its the right time to post some feedback.
Zaman, the person behind this initiative was reached via email and I was very much convinced that I wont be receiving any reply because of the thread activity. But the result was opposite to what I expected.
Cut the story short, I met him at his place with the Fuel cap and got the can filled in a couple of hours.
Rest was the question about color being coded. I'll put up the snaps that I took during this DIY which'll better make sense.
Materiel that were used along with the prices are;
-Color Coded Spray can (Around 1000 Rs.)
-1000/350 Grit Sand paper (50 Rs. each)
-Masking tape (60 Rs.)
-Rustoleum Spray Primer (Around 1200)
Because I needed to test the job, I choose this bumper scratch that was far below.
This is what it looked like before.
I wet sanded it with 1000/350 Gt but didn't filled it with putty or something because the scratches were not too deep. I masked it afterwards.
It was then base-coated with Rustoleum Primer, a very handy product indeed.
Masking was removed and Primer was wet sanded with 1000 Gt. The primer is sand-able after 30 mins.
I could have sanded it thoroughly to better feather it away to the edges.
Here it is with the 1st coat applied. It can be gauged right away I believe.
After the second coat applied. I don't see any sharp color bleed. Color is very much the same.
Not to forget it isn't clear coated yet, that I did after a week and will polish it in a few days.
I'm very much satisfied with the color and services. Thanks a lot Zaman for bringing this DIY treat.
I have a lot of spider cracks over rear bumper that I'll be doing in a few weeks as this test was a sure pass in my books.
Comments are more than welcome. I'm not a pro so critics will help me learn.
Best,
Nuh
