***Rebuilding my VW 1303 Superbeetle***

ok guys it's your turn to help me out. Here is a pic of my recently acquired superbeetle, please feel free to do whatever you want with it (rims & paint) I need a little help & inspiration on this build (exterior). anything goes (except panel/roof chopping). Remember this is not to be "Pimped", the emphasis will be on modern engineering and true restoration, i'm not a huge fan of silly alterations.

1. Removing the front indicators from the fender and in to the front bumper.

2. Shaving of the door handles.

3. Painting it Matt Black (That would be first in Pakistan)

4. Putting in really really meaty rear tyres....like 225's (I know ...I know I am running a bit wild here....but you asked for it)

5. Suicide Doors.

6. Hollow Alloys.

7. Getting a Transporter Engine from 1983-1991 the boxer I mean....1700 to 2100cc...would cost you around 700 to 1000 Pounds.

Shall I go on..................................???????????

I was studying for my exam and just lurking around but then this is a topic related to beetles. I cant miss it!!

Taking the top off a sedan is the worst thing you could do to a beetle. Period. Ruins the car and eventually makes it end up in the junkyard. Technically speaking it destroys the structure of the sedan, unless done very carefully with a few modifications which mimic the structure of the original convertible.

Storm you can take ideas from the pics I posted in the Volksworld Show 2006 topic. I will also forward a link which makes you play with VWs like you want people to with the image u posted. I have to look for it but its a really really good site and youll enjoy hours of virtually building your dream bug!

I cant imagine making suicide doors here in Pakistan. Its possible but ull need a really cooperative and expert denter.

BTW the teddy bear rims are real cute.Would look great on a Pink or purple bug driven by a girl!!!

Any idea of how much the Bilal Gunj people want for the bear rims or the silver n black ones???

I must admit Storm has got the 'VW centre' of my brain (which happens to occupy 95% of my cerebral territoty!!) really really active!

sadly no, i'll be importng them from either the UAE or the US but it all depends on what i decide at the end, afterall function is more important to me than fashion.

bro if you could that would be a HUGE favour. Also could you ask what bolt patern it has (i.e 4x100 like the corolla, civic etc..)

thanks bro, but those are 2 options i will never do with my cherished 1303,... maybe if i get a old 67-68 1200 cheap i might rebuild another roadster.
