Hi guys. I,ve been a silent member of pakwheels for quite some time. I,ve done a lot DIY,s on my car but never took pictures. Today i decided to take photos of my DIY and post it on Pakwheels.
The chrome Honda emblem on the steering was worn out and became yellowish when i bought the car a month ago. I don,t know what the previous owner did that took the chrome off the emblem. The whole interior of the car is very clean and the emblem spoiled everything. So, today i decided to paint it. The whole process needs atleast 45 minutes for a good finish.
First of all i masked it to sand the yellow emblem for the strength of the paint. Then i dry sanded it a little.
Then i masked it properly. Please note that it is a very important step. Failure to mask it properly would cause overspray on the steering and it is a pain in the a** to clean the oversparay as the area is small and the petrol/thinner used to clean overspray would cause damage to the surface of steering.
I used chrome color spray. It is not as good as real chrome but, definitely better than silver.
First coat sprayed.
After spraying the first coat, i realized my mistake. I used wrong (harder) sandpaper and it left deep scratches which is seen after the first coat. So, i sanded it again with a softer sand paper.
Then again first coat.
Then second coat applied after interval of 10 minutes.
And finally third coat applied after 10 minutes.
