Assalamulaikum.
Here, I'm sharing what has been keeping me busy for the last few weeks. As some of you may know, me and my brother (Skullbox) built a G101 Charade some time back. Here's a link to the build log. https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/d-i-y-projects/152258-4e-fe-charade-g100-project
After serving us for around 3 years or more, it was sold to be replaced by a Mira. Lately, I was in search for a Charade and after searching the market for a clean car, with the people demanding insane amounts for their beaten up cars, decided to call the person we sold the car to and found out that it has been further sold to another person. Long story short, contacted the guy and got the car back from the new owner
This is the state that it was brought back home in.
It wasn't in too shabby a state but it was VERY dirty! As if it hadn't had a wash in months. In addition to that, the engine was now weak. Here, I?d like to add that the person that we sold the car to, who is also a pakwheeler, took good care of it and also added some nice goodies to it but the real damage was done by the last owner.
Coming to the engine now. The options were to either get the current engine rebuilt or get a kabuli assembly for it or go for a swap. With a 2nz-fe already at hand (taken out of the corolla) which is a newer generation engine, and the parts for 4e / 5e getting rarer in the market, it was decided that the car will be swapped with the 2nz-fe. Other bits like the transmission, wiring, clutch, pressure plate and some other things were required to be bought though.
The first step was to give it a much needed wash, and it was prepared to be taken for the swap both physically and mentally 'There there little one, this wont hurt a bit'
The old engine taken out. You've served us well buddy!
The 2nz finds its way into the engine bay for a mock up to see if it'll actually fit.
