I've just spent the entire morning reading every word to this wonderful thread. The short version of what I'd like to say is: "well done"
Now, the longer version. This is seriously innovative and meticulous work. The way you've tackled all of the problems and customised them to suit your personal requirements is commendable. That way, when you undertake something like this you "own" the end product, in the sense that you take bits and bobs and stock parts and create something that is completely tailored to your personal vision and creativity. Whether it be two wheels or four (or three, like I've been planning for a very long time), that is appreciable by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm looking forward to a really eye-catching paint job on your bike. These custom builds need to be stand-out beasts; for the simple reason that they are bespoke, one-off creations. I wish you good luck with that.
To be honest, I'm not really a biker - my personal 'poison' is cars, rather than two wheelers. But as an exercise in creativity, I did once build something out of a bike I once had lying around. I hope you find inspiration and motivation, when you're drawing close to the checkered flag!
Once again, best of luck.
Fouad.
