Now the fun part, everybody knows that to get Q16/C16 (branded race fuels by VP fuels) is pretty much hard to get into Pakistan on and off. The question was to find a reliable alternative which lets me run 14+ compression and act atleast almost the same as Q16.
Searched around on the internet and and got to know that people are using VP M1 (100% methanol) in the states as a dyno testing mule on these types of setup. Again searched in the market and found a german brand selling 99.9% pure methanol (very expensive though) and bought some cans of it. And the car was then started on methanol, later i went on a partial throttle drive and it responded quite well. Later on the car was tuned also on methanol (uptill now). The Q16 till yet has not been tested as im more then satisfied with running methanol as its widely available and makes MORE if not the same power as Q16.
The downside of running methanol is that you have to take out the methanol EVERY TIME you come back from a run, means turning the fuel pump on and then draining out the fuel from the return line of the fpr which goes into the fuel tank. Then hi-octane is poured back into the fuel tank and the car is then started and idled for a few minutes. This procedure lubricates the fuel lines/fuel pump/fuel injectors!! This is because methanol is a very corrosive fuel and it also attracts water from the atmosphere. This can lead to fuel lines being corroded/fuel pump blades to have rust or corrode/fuel injectors to seize up.The meth cannot be stored inside the fuel tank for even some hours!!
Also the engine oil has to be changed after every 2-3 runs or within a week or two of running the methanol. To some this would sound crazy but there is a big reason behind it. Methanol seeps past the oil rings and dilutes the oil (breaking down the molecules). Therefor it is recommended to change the oil sooner so that there is no damage to the bearings etc.
