Corolla gli speedometer problem

Salam all

Yesterday I was getting some wire work in my rolla gli 09 and I saw some dust in the speedo, I asked the electrician if he can open the glass so that I can clean it. He opened and I cleaned it but my fingure touch 2 of the needles and they lost their actual position. The guy said sir yeh sahi ho jaye jab meter connect karen ge. All the needles came to their actual postion.except the petrol gauge

Now its something like
And when hit the switch

Now as u see the needle's position the low fuel indicator shold be on but it isnt coz there is more fuel than its showing
The needle has changed its initial position

How to solve this issue, experts need ur help

There are little servo motors inside the odometer. They get damaged if you apply the slightest pressure on them. If the servo motor is fixable then you're safe. If it isn't you'll have to get a new odometer.

The gauge comes up and goes down very fine, the only issue is that it has lost its initial state

If the servo motor is damged will the gauge work? How can I know if it can be repaired?

The needle will work, but it will not be in the initial position it was in.

Ask an electrician who sells/repairs odometers. Go to someone well-known, someone who actually knows what to do.

Ohh, but what about the other needles as they were also touched but they are ok

What other ones were touched? The fuel gauge needle might have been forced to more pressure as compared to the other ones.

Temp one and rpm one, naah yaar it was not forced with pressure, main to khud darr darr k saaf kar raha tha, phadda thori kar raha tha needles k sath,

Btw in which car did u face the same issue and what remedy u applied?

Ussi, just take the pin out, by pulling it, dont move it like a screw, just pull it and try to fix it again in the default position. Before doing this just try this method on a wall clock. Motor seems fine as it is going up and down normally.

its a bobbin coil but very damped, you moved the initial rest position, this can be rectified by a meter repair person by taking off the needle and putting it back correctly with another gauge available for reference.

Ussi, just take the pin out, by pulling it, dont move it like a screw, just pull it and try to fix it again in the default position. Before doing this just try this method on a wall clock. Motor seems fine as it is going up and down normally.

Here in hyd we dont have a good meter repair guy thats why im afraif if somthing stupid happens to is say bhi jayen ge, ill get it fix on my next visit to karachi INSHALLAH

R u trying to pull it with fingers? try using some tweezer. or use any plastic scale like lever.

Thanks to both of you for your help and co-operation(specially raza bhai for providing me the snaps) my problem is solved and it was done by me

Hi. Igot the same problem while cleaning with RPM n Temp guage. I removed the needles n fixed them again at accurate place. Its OK
