    Default Civic lights...help required!!

    Hi all,

    I have a 8 gen civic and I feel the stock bulbs for low beam in the headlight are not enough and I also do want to go for HIDs. I would like you feedback on the following:

    1) I want to go for Phillip extreme vision, now should I go for extreme vision in low beam and/or in high beam?
    2) Will Phillips extreme vision effect my wiring/head light covers?
    3) What is the bulb number for low beam/high beam e.g. h4, h7 etc.

    Looking forward to your help.

    Thanks.

    Get good quality HIDs for your low beam. If you have fog lamps, get HIDs for those as well. It would cost you around 6k. Lights will be 50% better. No immediate effect on the casing or the glass. Can't say about extended use. I have been using this setup for last about 6 months without any problem. Low beams are 9006 and fogs are H11 if I am not wrong.

    1) If you have money go for both otherwise only low beam.
    2) Perfectly safe as they have same wattage as the stock bulbs.
    3) High = 9005 Low = 9006.

    Donot use HIDs they blind oncoming drivers. It is best for your and others safety not to use HID in stock headlight housing

    you feel they are not enough?? are you offroading somewhere? FIRST THINGS FIRST, clean the windscreen so it does not have anything on it, replace if damaged, aim headlamps correctly and ensure that the reflector is not damaged in any way, shape or form.

    @all Thankyou for the feedback

    @Yahyujee I personally am not comfortable with Hids as it blinds the person coming from the opposite side.

    @Xulfiqar I checked the glass of the headlights and the reflectors and they seem fine. Plus the car is less than 9 months old so I do not think this can be the issue. However I do think the alignment can be a problem as I feel on low beam the beam of light is relatively low. Can someone suggest a good place to get my light alignment checked?

    Agree with u jay - even I am not comfortable with low beam of my civic, things become very clear on high beam but I don't use high Beam as its socially wrong.
