Default ECO in Speedometer of Toyota Corolla XLI 2012

    AOA,

There is filed "ECO" in speedometer of Toyota Corolla XLI 2012 which doesnt turn-on despite my several efforts.
if this ECO is for GLI only, then why its present in XLI Speedometer?
    Can anybody explain?
    Thanks

im sure the eco is for the economy mode. dont know how it turns on but since the speedo is the same for xli,gli and 2.0d it will be present. eg the pakistani liana has cruise control sign on the speedo even though u dnt get that option here.

There is no "Eco" indication in Gli also.
Eco is only available in Altis automatic version and Gli Auto

No sir the light automatically lights up when the car is running efficiently.. It mostly comes on in higher gears when the rpm is below 3k ... (To best of my knowledge)

    Egjectly.

@op, There is an option in odometer to turn it off and on, have u tried that? Press odo meter reading button, after trip B, eco mode on / off should be there, if no, then there must be no option in manual xli and gli.

There is NO difference b/w clusters of XLi, GLi and 1.6 AT GLi...

Default Eco mode is linked with D3 gear

I noticed that in GLI 1.6 model (I have 2013 model) when u switch your gear to D3, you will notice that you can shift the lever to a bit towards the left side, while staying at D3. As soon as you shift it to the left, Eco light switches on in the meter.
That's the practice knowledge. And it works.
