Hello everybody;
I've the experience of rewinding motors and transformers for more than 10 years.
I'm curious to know, have any body tried to rewind the stator winding of a car alternator for generating more electrical power like for example rewinding a 40 am alternator to 60 am using a thick wire? Because thats what I did with so many things like dc motors, fans, transformers. The trick is to get more copper in it.
A universal rule is that:
Number of each copper wire turn is directly proportional to the voltage produced for a given RPM.
It means that the number of turns already there by the manufacturer are supposed to remain the same, therefore, it is imperative to note down the number of turns of copper wire per coil, and to choose smartly the size / thickness of wire, otherwise if the coil did not fit, your struggle will be fruitless.
Have any body tried it yet?
Sincerely
Naeem
